Website Content Manager.

As the Website Content Manager, you will report to Iceberg’s Head of Production. You will be responsible for ensuring that all content pieces are collected and generated for each new website we develop. You will form strong relationships with our customers, starting with the onboarding meeting.

You will perform phone, or Zoom content interviews with customers and write lead generating website marketing content. You may participate in meetings for new customers after a sale to learn about their business and the project. You will develop website sitemaps, and work with our customers to collect content-related assets for their projects, including photos, videos, and graphics. You will write website marketing copy with compelling calls to action, and work with our development team as they build out pages with your content, following Iceberg’s content guidelines. You will collaborate with customers to collect and organize assets. You will also perform independent research on various industries, as you generate monthly blog content and help brainstorm topics for SEO.

As a member of the Iceberg Web Design “penguin family,” you will contribute to various projects as we provide top notch customer service and work together to meet company goals. Additional tasks may include assisting our SEO team with content generation as needed, lending your marketing expertise in our advertising efforts or growth plans, assisting team members with quality assurance, and joining your team members in the occasional Zoom happy hour or company-wide event. 

Job Responsibilities.

  • Lead website content interviews with Iceberg Web Design’s customers;
  • Perform keyword and other research in various industries, in order to write compelling marketing content;
  • Develop full website sitemaps, and work with customers to determine which pages need professional marketing content. Write compelling, keyword-rich headlines, body content, and calls to action for websites;
  • Deliver content drafts to customers and work with customers and Iceberg’s Project Manager to complete the content phase of website development projects;
  • Adhere to Iceberg’s Content Writing Guidelines;
  • Attend project kickoff meetings as needed with the Iceberg team and new customers;
  • Connect directly with Iceberg’s customers for content consulting and strategy as needed;
  • Collect and organize all assets from customers to accompany content (photos, logos, video);
  • Embrace AI tools for idea brainstorming and efficiency;
  • Create monthly blog topics and write posts each month for customers in different industries (examples include construction, electrical, flooring, legal, and retail);
  • Work with Iceberg’s SEO and marketing team as needed to create content for landing pages, blog posts, and social media;
  • Create administration and marketing content for Iceberg as needed;
  • Actively learn and continue your education in best practices for search engine optimized content writing;
  • Assist Iceberg’s team with Quality Assurance checks prior to launch of new projects;
  • Engage in weekly L10 meetings with Iceberg’s Production Department.

Key Perfomance Indicators

  • Produce content that meets Iceberg’s Content Writing Guidelines;
  • Deliver content assignments on time, per timeline or task due date;
  • Collect and organize all content assets for each new website project;
  • Track your time when working on customer projects or internal projects;
  • Attend Production L10 Meetings weekly;
  • Attend Marketing L10 Meetings monthly;
  • Be available for communication during business hours and provide updates to Iceberg team members via Slack, phone, or in person (if applicable).

Job Qualifications.

  • Experience with website content writing and site map creation;
  • Project management experience or exceptional organizational skills;
  • Able to deliver a sample of website content writing (5-10 pages of website copy); 
  • Ability to write keyword-rich marketing content for many different industries and audiences;
  • Keyword research experience;
  • Familiar with website content format, including appropriate heading structure (H1, H2, H3), internal linking, use of keywords in headlines and copy, and the function of page title tags and descriptions;
  • Able to write compelling Calls to Action;
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines;
  • Able to collaborate with team members, and to communicate frequently and efficiently via email, Slack, and other communication platforms; 
  • Proficiency using Google Drive;
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT and other AI content generation tools;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team.

Education & Experience.

  • 1-2 years experience with website content writing;
  • 1 year experience with blog or other marketing writing;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Familiarity with WordPress is a plus.

Time Commitment, Compensation & Benefits.

  • Time Commitment: part time, hourly position with a minimum of 20 hours/week guaranteed.
  • Pay commensurate with your experience.
  • 3 month performance review.
  • Location: Our office is located in Anoka, Minnesota. Our team is currently working in a hybrid capacity. Please indicate your ability and preference to work in-office or remote. Include experience working remotely in your job application.

Our Hiring Process.

When you call or email, you may be asked to engage in communication as our team gets to know you. If selected for a phone interview, you will be speaking with our Head of Production or Project Manager about the position, your experience, and your career goals.

If selected as a final candidate, you will attend a Zoom or in person (if local) interview with the hiring team, including Iceberg’s CEO. You will be asked to provide a writing sample that demonstrates your ability to write strong marketing content. A background check may be performed prior to a verbal and written job offer.
