Ega once thought he and his wife would always prefer culturally rich destinations — Thailand, Japan, Korea, Switzerland. So when they planned a trip to Melbourne and Sydney, they expected to feel underwhelmed. They loved it. The vibe, the people, all of it. It was a good reminder that it’s not always about the destination; it’s about the journey and who you experience it with.

Ega’s path into development started with a love of two things: numbers and computers. He studied Computer Science at Bina Nusantara University, and even though the coding coursework was limited, the moment he touched it, he knew it was what he wanted to do.
He started out in IT support, then began freelancing with WordPress around 2010. His technical instincts didn’t go unnoticed — a senior colleague and manager recognized his potential and promoted him into an IT developer role. From there, he kept building.
Ega believes a lot of what makes him effective as a developer comes down to how his brain is wired. Creative problem solving, an outsized curiosity, a wide imagination, the ability to hyper-focus when a problem really grabs him, and a natural pull toward exploring new approaches. In a field where “figure it out” is basically the job description, that kind of mind tends to thrive.
It’s also part of why agency life suits him so well. At Iceberg, there’s always a new project around the corner, which is exactly the kind of environment where someone like Ega does his best work.
Ega lives in Tangerang with his wife and their dog, Cao Cao. When he isn’t exploring the latest tech trends, he’s likely at the gym working on his strength training alongside his wife, planning his next travel adventure, or tracking down something delicious to eat. A lifelong fan of Real Madrid FC, Ega also enjoys catching up on the latest One Piece. He is also a big fan of the singer and actress IU.
At home, life is never quiet thanks to Cao Cao, his 7-year-old dog who came into the world during the pandemic and has never quite recovered from the experience of being left alone. Cao Cao is, by all accounts, very emotionally attached.
