Website Design for Tortilla Factory | Iceberg Web Design

La Perla Tortillas

Inspired by his mother, who always wanted to open her own tortilla factory, José Payan Sr. and his family made it their mission to carry out her dreams. Seeing a need for authentic Mexican tortillas in the north, José and his family moved to Minnesota and opened La Perla in 1999. Starting out as a small retail space, the business took off and in 2006, the new 15,600 square foot La Perla Tortilla Factory opened in Minneapolis.

The Challenge

Create an Authentic Website That Represents the Bold History of La Perla

With all the success that came from their hard work, La Perla needed a website that could showcase their family history, their journey to opening a tortilla factory, and of course, their delicious products and recipes.

Although La Perla was thriving, their current website was not. Their current website developer was unresponsive and created a poorly functioning website — pages were missing, links were broken, and it provided a poor user experience on all electronic devices.

The Solution

A Website Design Rich With Flavor and History

La Perla responsive website design

To ensure La Perla’s extensive history translated beautifully online, our teams gathered around some La Perla chips and salsa to discuss their journey to success in depth. Taking everything we had learned about this admirable family and business, we built a new website with professional content and photography that highlighted their unique company, products and beloved recipes.

With a colorful design, an enriching user-experience, and the capability to have an English and Spanish version of the website, La Perla saw an increase in customer satisfaction and conversions.
